Combining Clear Stereo function with the Clear Bass function and using the supplied Noise Canceling EX Series headphones that can reduce up to 75 percent of the ambient noise, the 13.5mm headphone driver unit enables a wide-range frequency and wide dynamic-range playback with powerful bass sound. The compact and lightweight NWZ-S710 players supports MP3/WMA/AAC audio files as well as MPEG 4, M4V video files, they have a 1.8-inch QVGA (320 by 240 pixels) LCD screen and include an FM tuner with 30 presets that make it convenient to listen to the radio on the go.

Sony is unveiling the ICF-C1iPMK2, its latest clock radio with a dock made for Apple's iPod and iPhone. It features a full-function alarm clock with Automatic Time Set (ATS) function, a line-in jack to connect other digital music players, a wireless remote with full access to the iPod and iPhone devices’ menus, and it also charges the device while docked. The Sony ICF-C1iPMK2 comes in black or white finish and will be available in May for $100.

Transcend has announced it will launch a 8GB version of its T.Sonic Mp3 player that comes in a ivory white finish for $115. The T.Sonic 650 features in a compact-sized housing (75x 31x 13mm) a dual-color OLED display, FM radio tuner with 20 preset stations and recording capability, A-B repeat and MP3, WMA, WMA-DRM10 playback. Also, the built-in Lithium-ion battery provides 15 hours of playback time when fully charged.

Kenwood will release this month a new docking station made for iPod, the AS-IP300. Available in white (AS-IP300-W) or black (AS-IP300-B) this station has 2W per channel powered stereo speakers, auxiliary input for playing music from external devices and it can be powered by either the supplied AC adapter or from 8x AA alkaline batteries for up to 8 hours of continuous playback. The AS-IP300 comes with a remote control and is compatible with all iPods excluding the iPod Touch and iPod Shuffle.

Sony Japan launches three new models in its E-series, the NW-E026F (4GB), the NW-E025F (2GB) and the NW-E023F (1GB). The main feature of these MP3 players is the ability to change the body color easily. These series include three-line color LCD, direct USB connection with "drag and drop" function and FM radio tuner. Each models play backs ATRAC, MP3, WMA, AAC and Linear PCM Audio and are supplied with high-quality in-ear headphones (MDR-EX90SL). Prices start from $90 for the NW-E023F model.

Sony Japan has announced the NW-A820 series which comprises two models. First, the NW-A828 comes with 8GB and a $250 price tag while the second models NW-A829 holds 16GB of flash memory. Common features include a 2.4-inch 320x 240 display, MP3, WMA, AAC, Atrac, WAV and MPEG-4 playback. In addition these series includes native bluetooth 2.0 A2DP/AVRCP for audio and video content transmission. Autonomy during movie playback is 10 hours, 36 hours while music listening. The multimedia players measure 50.2x 93.6x 9.3mm, weigh 59grams, and will go on sale from March 20th in Japan.

Another portable media player announced by Toshiba, after the T802, the V81 is coming this month in Japan at $330. The player incorporates a portable digital TV tuner (1Seg), a 320x240-pixel 3.5-inch screen, 8GB of flash memory, a SDHC compatible media card slot. Toshiba claims that the V81 has an autonomy of 10 hours while broadcast viewing, and 13 hours of playback video viewing with WMA, WMV and MP3 compatibility.

Toshiba Japan announced a new portable media player, called T802, Toshiba stuffed a lot of features inside such as WiFi 802.11 b/g connectivity which allows users to enjoy online video streamings, a 1Seg built-in tuner, 8GB of memory storage and a 2.4-inch LCD screen (320×240). The Toshiba T802 runs on Windows Mobile software for Portable Media Center and is able to play WMA, MP3, WAV, WMV and JPEG media formats during 16 hours of continuous playback. The player should cost something like $280, but no word on availability yet.
